Driftwood Farm
Nestled on 30 acres in Awendaw, with distant views of Seewee Bay, this custom built home was a joint collaboration over two years with Max Crosby Construction and decorating assistance from Meredith Rietz. All the finishes, fixtures, furniture and accessories were selected by WRD to create a warm and cozy home with clean lines and a neutral palette. Most of the antiques throughout the home were purchased while antiquing in Texas. Those pieces include vintage shutters used as doors on TV cabinets, an aged zinc kitchen table, aged mirrors and armoires, and a lavender drying table from Provence. The animal hides and antlers were selected while shopping in the mountains of North Carolina and the beams by Encore Lumber were specified from old barns in the Southeast. Modern elements are noticeably mixed in to the space such as illuminated mirrors, steel windows and exterior doors, a tall concrete tile fireplace and waterfall kitchen countertop.
